Not to sure if Hotpoint have got what it takes to go all the way this year lot of talent there on paper but just scraping through games. I know that they still get the points but can they compete with the big boys ,as they have already lost to ortonians and PSL think they lack a top keeper as heard can be a bit of a lisblity any views on this.

played against hotpoint yesterday and to due credit they struggled to beat a supposingly poor pinchbeck team, who by the way never get the credit they deserve when we put in battling performances. They need a gk like ours as he is on trial at boston united

Well I must have watched a different game then boys, struggled to win, 2 perfectly legitimate goals disallowed and missed chances galore, a pathetic referee and playing against opposition who when they went a goal down after 25 minutes settled for that result there and then.
With regard to being good enough, I have a good squad assembled but have to question players availability as I had 6 regular first teamers missing on Saturday and would have taken a 1-0 win before the game.
I am well aware of the anti-hotpoint brigade developing and it doesn't bother me one bit because I see a lot of ex-players who have played a good standard of football watching our games week in week out and know they are there because we play good entertaining football which is a pleasure to watch at times, mark my words when we click properly some team is going to get a good hammering.

Agree with Spec Hotpoint def have the players to maintain a challenge this year but what I would question is the attitude of their players. I watched them last week against a crowland side missing lots of players and players playing out of position. Crowland were there for the taking but despite Hotpoint enjoying much of the possession they failed to create many chances until the final 15 mins as the patched up Crowland became tired. I watched the two sides line up I expected Hotpoint to win comfortably. Particularly as Weston was playing at centre back. Good player in midfield but I would have thought his lack of pace would have been found out against two of the quicker players around. This rarely happened and him and other centre back dealt with them quite comfortably. Also think critisism of Hotpoint keeper is a little unfair as I'm sure Spec would agree he has rarely let him down and if the players in front of him were playing to their potential this wouldn't even be an issue.

I'm sure many will disagree but I think Crowland could go close this year. Managed to get results while coping with suspension, unavailability and injury so far and are beginning to get players back and if they can stay with in touching distance of the leaders by Christmas I think they could surprise a few people. They probably need a centre back so Weston can push forward with Southgate in Midfield to help them compete in the big games but I have heard they are considering a move for one and with the temperamental striker L Weston coming back (this week I think) from suspension they must have a chance.

Interesting debate - seasons do seem to take a regular track: -

Perkins best team in July and favourites for league pre-season.
PSL seen as dark horses and Al thinks this could be their year.
Hotpoint - pick up players from Perkins and others and now have best team in the league and become favourites - same this year when if they don't win it with calibre of players they have they never will.
Ortonians plod along and win things now and again, but are not very good with their administration!
Moulton will be at the top all year, but just miss out in the end (me thinks this year will be different - how many come backs? - how many 1 goal victories? - best organised team in the league).
Uppingham, Parson Drove & Crowland come up from division 1, surprise teams and end up having decent seasons without threatening to win anything.
Leverington always give you a decent game, particularly at home and finish towards the top - Oundle not bad and top half side, Stamford Bells also finish mid-table along with Alconbury
Pinchbeck & Long Sutton are at the bottom along with Wimblington.
Whittlesey could finish anywhere!

Thought provoking?
