With the demise of ortonians at the end of the season does anyone no how the prem will look next year. will it be a case of the bottom club staying where they are and just the one promotion from division one? or will the bottom club be relegated and two coming up.. would it be better to have two clubs such as woodlands/deeping/netherton/wimblington coming up and trying there hand in the prem than keeping this years bottom club up? any thoughts?

Yes, I think you have enough to do preparing for Saturdays game than spending time on here Gary.
2 up for me though, I think the standard of clubs coming up lately have been excellent and think it should continue, there's nothing better than a breath of fresh air to liven things up.

2 down for me (likely to be Wimblington and Long Sutton, although Uppingham are in a precarious position) & 3 up to replace the 2 plus Ortonians (if they meet Prem requirements).

3 - Woodlands, Deeping and Chatteris?

I think Uppingham will elect to go down themselves anyway, their manager is quitting at the end of the season and I personally think it will be a downward spiral from then on, don't want to see Long Sutton or Wimblington go down as I think they will both turn things around very shortly. Got to disagree with 3 up Hyypia, there is no way the top 3 sides in division 1 would all hold their own in the prem and I can assure you it will be even more harder next year.

It's ok Mark, I'm all ready for saturday now, cleanded my boots and everything.. two up and the bottom club down for me, mainly because i hate going to long sutton, it's a long way and it's always cold and wet..

i think one down two up would be fair and as it stands the one will be either wimblington or long sutton and i think most would agree woodlands are coming up.

Robbo, I think that is the only way to go. The two down option aint covered by the rules, I don't think.

a few people have mentioned deeping getting promoted to the prem but i heard from someone today that their application had been refused due to the changing rooms at outgang rd being too far from the pitch. does anyone know if this is true? if it is its a totally shocking decision!

My understanding of the matter is that clubs have to had applied for promotion by 31st December. I understand that neither Deeping Sports or Wimblington Harriers applied by that date. Whereas Chatteris Town and Woodlands did.

and my understanding was that Deeping did not apply as they incorrectly felt that they would not be able to get in because of the point you made JB, so only 2 clubs applied in any case.

Suspect that no-one will go down this year because of Ortonians situation and agree that we ought to be looking at promoting the top 2 subject to meeting certain criteria in future.
