IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ !

Without going into too much detail, we have had a few problems with the site over the weekend as a result of a local official taking offence at postings made about him.

Irrespective of people's opinions, the postings WERE unreasonable, given that opinions were presented on here as factual statements ......... and opinions must be voiced as anything but !

If you have a big downer on any individual and feel the need to voice an opinion that is likely to cause offence then STOP ........... THINK !!!

Get it wrong and I could end up in court ........ not you but me !

The law will side with you if (a) the opinion is REASONABLE and (b) the opinion is portrayed as an OPINION and not a statement of fact.

Please tread very carefully as the site's current existance is hanging by a slender thread as a result of these incidents.

Hi Paul, not really interested in the reasons etc, but just wondering as you've written "I could end up in court" does that mean that the matter has been resolved amicably on this occasion and it was a warning for future conduct by all? (although i know i personally have not attacked anyone on this site - i see it purely as a good bit of banter) Just concerned for you really

I was never involved in the first place ......... it was Mark who took the beating :batr: !!!

There was a thinly veiled threat of further action but I don't expect it to go any further and, if it does, I'll deal with it.

We did get it wrong on here and things were posted that shouldn't have been. If the guy makes himself known to me then the first thing I will do is apologise and I would like to think it would end there.
