does anyone know if pitches are regularly inspected by league officials(not useless refs either!)? we (scarletts) played against deeping on sunday at baston and the pitch is one of the most dangerous i've ever come across! there was a hell of a lot of holes all over the pitch and i am still struggling to walk after my standing foot slipped into one of these holes whilst making a clearance. now i am unable to work due to a DANGEROUS pitch being allowed to be played on by the league/refs. to be fair to the refs this pitch has been this bad for years and games should not be allowed to go ahead on it in its current state by the league. deeping itself has many fantastic pitches to choose from and i'm sure they're the only sunday side in the area so the pitches should be free for them to use.

if i am unable to work for a lengthy period of time who is liable? its not like its a freak accident as the league have allowed the safety of every player on that pitch to be compromised.

Mate I 100% back you up on that, we played them in the cup a few weeks back and the pitch was aweful, I did the same and fell down a pot-hole that must have been a foot wide and 5 or 6 inches deep, luckily it wasn't a bad twist on my ankle and we laughed it off but there must have been dozens of them down each flank? When the ball hits them it bounces off at all angles too!
Worst pitch I've seen for many a year and how it passes the refs inspection I'll never know, We didn't complain as Deeping beat us fair and square in a tight game but I think it's down to the ref and the managers on the day to bring up the state of the pitch and make a decision???
You can always report it to the PSMFL now and they will be forced into inspecting it and making some form of judgement/decision on it I think - and I would advise you do that ASAP if you really are injured as a result of it mate....
Keith Bryant is current pitch co-ordinator I believe? failing that Fred Johnson as chairman? They are there to help and decent blokes to boot.

Deeping must be able to find a better pitch locally or at least try and sort that one out?

Bit like you the week before I hear?

Seriously though the pitch is f*cking dreadful, they ain't normal moles/rabitts out that way, they be fen moles n rabbits - have your foot off, soon as look at you they would... never liked playing out that way, for that reason alone!

If you answer NO to any of the following questions you shouldnt have played on that pitch

Am i of sound mind?

Can i make decisions for myself?

Should i therefore play on a pitch that may harm me?

I agree with Notbothered. We all make the choice to play and can see the condition of it. At Bretton everyones biggest moan is about the amount of dog s**t on the pitch !!

to be fair any game I've watched at Bretton has been dog sh*t.....

of course it's your choice to play on it, but if the pitch is in a bad state for any length of time then something can and perhaps should be done about it? almost end of season now though so perhaps something will be said and done pre-season to improve it?

Does that include all the games EMAP have played vs JNE and been unlucky !!!

eh? we've only ever played JNE twice and both were at Bushfield, drew 3-3 pre season in a cracking game and lost 2-0 in the cup another cracking game....
games I've watched at Bretton include Fusion and Fenland Police - say no more!

keep taking the pills ResMan
