Stilton looking for a win to clinch the league, lot of nerves out their but have a good following with equivalent of 2 bus loads coming to watch.
Stilton to Kick Off the first half from Left to Right.

Match Highlights. (Minutes in Brackets)

First Half

(1) As the game has kicked off, lot of tension in the air, but a good early ball from M Baines to centre half T Douse in the centre circle, and T Douse spotted an opening and with a surging run burst through the defence clearing at least three defenders. 50/50 ball coming up with the keeper and nasty collision between the tweo leaves T Douse in a little pain. After a slight pause early on T Douse receives treatment and carry on albeit with a little grimace on his face.

(4) The first real chance of the game comes to the Castor No.7 but unfortunately for him he blasts the shot well wide. No trouble for the keeper who has kept three clean sheets on the trot.

(6) N Lee makes a blinding run down the right hand side and as he is clean through he takes a horrendous touch, which allows the defender to clear for the corner. Resulting corner gives a real test to the home keeper and he takes a fantastic catch in the air although under pressure by two Stilton players.

(7) N Lee is through on goal again, this time he does a lot better with a well struck shot only for the keeper to make a fine save down to his right. Stilton getting a little more possesion and a lot of their play is happening down the right hand side.

(11) N Lee makes a good run again down the right and makes a good knock into R Baines who hits a good shot from just outside the area to find it going agonisingly wide. Good move unlucky not to score.

(19) Great move from Stilton again down the right, but this time R Baines is crossing the ball in and it is a brilliant opportunity for M Baines to score but the ball just evades him and the Castor defence clear with ease. Although all the possesion is with Stilton, Castor seem untroubled so far.

(24) Corner for Stilton and a good delivery in by D Ward sees the Castor defence struggling and the ball falls to A Hardy in a promising postion and just doesnt get his head over the ball and if their was a stand behind the goal, the centre forward probably would have cleared it.

(26) Stilton attacking yet again and A Hardy put in a great cross and R Baines rises and puts in a good header, but the keeper saves again. Is the keeper going to ruin Stilton's day.

(30) R Baines was sent through on goal only for the keeper to come off the line and make a fantastic challenge to save a certain goal. You can see the away team will break the deadlock shortly.

(36) GOAL!!!!! Ball over the top of the big centre half and R Baines is through and blasts a fantastic finish down low to the goalkeepers right, and this is what the spectators came to see. Great goal and this should settle some nerves. 1-0 Stilton.

(37) Nearly straight from kick off, D Ward steals the ball from the Castor No.7 and he hits a snap shot over the bar, had time and could have done better.

(41) A Hardy has another attempt and he hits his shot like a bullet with it rising inches over the bar. The crowd went wild with anticipation, but were soon sat back down in their deck chairs with their champagne.

Good half for Stilton, they will feel they should have capitalised on their possesion and chances but if were asked they would have took a 1-0 lead at half time.

Second Half

Castor to kick off from Left to Right and unlucky for the home keeper, the Stilton Barmy Army have followed him to the other end for another 45 minutes of abuse. Poor bloke. Only change for the second half sees S Hardy replace T Douise who was still reeling from that challenge earlier in the game.

(46) Straight away in the second half Stilton are on the attack again, and again the danger is down the right wing, N Lee is through on goal but the Castor centre half makes a brilliant last ditch tackle to deny him, and saved a definate second goal. resulting corner sees a good delivery from D Ward only for C Puhlofer to knock his header just over the bar.

(50) Castor are making a rare attack and get a free kick down the right, brilliant delivery which eludes every player, if someone gets their head on that it would have been 1-1. Great cross deserved more.

(51) GOAL!!!!! N Lee again down the right puts in a good ball for R Baines who just cant quite get their, but the ball is retrieved and N Lee is waiting on the edge of the box and hits from 19 yards curling into the keepers right hand corner to the delight of the Barmy Army and the Stilton faithful. Great finish and what Stilon needed and deserved. Should settle the nerves a little.2-0 Stilton.

(53) R Baines sends his brother through on goal, but a great challenge from the Castor No.8 denies him, but the ball falls to M Baines again and hits his shot just over. Stilton are on top and you feel that next goal would seal the victory.

(53) Straight away Castor No.10 has a chance only to hit a horrendous shot high and wide. That could have been there ticket back into this match but might have blown there chance.

(57) Scramble on the edge of the box, Castor seem to be in trouble, even the keeper has come out for no reason, possibly his first mistake of the game. Ball falls loose to M Baines and he half volleys the ball over his head to an empty net only for the post to deny what could have been a great goal for improvisation. Very unlucky and Stilton completely dominating the proceedings now.

(61) GOAL!!!!! What a brilliant goal. M Baines takes hold of th ball and skins a couple of players, knocks it to A Hardy who plays a great 1-2 with the midfielder which sends M Baines running down the left. First time he hits a left foot cross, curling it around the defence for R Baines to hit a crisp volley into the back of the net. Crowd on there feet as they realise this could be the goal that wins the league. 3-0 Stilton

(64) GOAL!!!!! Castors heads seem to be down now, good work from G Beaver down the left, the skipper lays the ball off to A Hardy who takes a touch, has a look and delivers a very precise cross, and if there was one person you thought would not be heading the ball into goal was the right winger N Lee. Great header and a good goal. That seals the victory for Stilton and success in the air. 4-0 Stilton

(65) Castor seemed to pick themselves up a bit and have an unlikely attack, only for the No.10 to knock his shot just wide. Not their day but they keep battling.

(68) GOAL!!!!! Good little knock this time from R Baines, who seems to be finding his form again in this game, sends M Baines clear, keeper comes out and M Baines cooly slots the ball past the keeper. Celebrations are already happening on the sidelines as champagne corks are heard from a distance.

(69) Manager W Arthur makes his second substitution of the game as W Fletcher comes on for D Ward. The Stilton veteran played a sterling job in the centre of midfield and deserves the plaudits he got from the away support.

(70) Corner from Stilton sees them try a Paul Scholes/David Beckham esque corner, G Beaver plays the ball out to the edge of the box where M Baines takes a touch and blasts a magnificent shot only for the keeper and the defender on the post to clear their lines between them. Great move.

(73) Another substitution from Stilton sees the skipper G Beaver come off to a raptuous applause and C Johnson come on for the last quarter of an hour. Straight swap down the left hand side.

(75) By far the best shot of the match, this comes from the Castor No.9 who hits from all of 25 yuards, only for J Wilkinson to pull off a wonderful save getting fingertips to the ball and push the ball onto the bar. Brilliant save and fantastic effort which deserved a goal,

(77) All the Stilton players want a bit of the action as M King comes up for his first action in the attacking zone and a well flighted free kick sees M King header fractionally over. Could have been 6-0. Seems Stilton really enjoying the moment now.

(80) M Baines does a little party piece on the left and delivers a great cross and R Baines hits it straight on the volley and the ball goes marginally wide. Great football.

(81) M Baines collects the ball and makes a sublime pass to N Lee who runs through on goal only for the keeper to make brilliant save and deny the winger. Keeper had a good game and probably doesn't deserve to have been beaten that many times.

(87) Great overlapping from the Stilton Right back T Osbourne sees him deliver a fantastic cross in for A Hardy who heads the ball just pass the post. Very unlucky and the elder stateman in the team deserves a goal for the tireless work he has put in.

(90) GOAL!!!!! C Johnson makes a fine pass from inside his own half which sends A Hardy through on goal, he takes a couple of touches and slots the ball past the keeper. The striker deserved that and what a way to clinch the title. 6-0 Stilton.

(90) One last effort sees W Fletcher through one on one with the keeper, the keeper makes a brilliant tackle as the midfielder tries to take the ball around him and denies a great goalscoring chance.

Final Result: Castor & Ailsworth 0 - 6 Stilon United

Summary: Great performance from Stilton as they clinch the Second Division title with another win. Castor albeit outplayed put up a brave fight. Well played to both teams.

Does that mean we are going to have a write off? Bring it on, unfortunately the gage on my mobile thermometer was broken, but having a rough guess i would go with 12 degrees celcius.
