Shock at Deeping..

Not that I was there but Deeping upset Whittlesey tonight! Really surprised although understand Deeping had Gravesey and Griff playing still excellent result for them. 3-2 final score. Total :eek:

It is a massive shock, didnt se it coming but it now makes the league a little more interesting.

more dissapointment than shock fellas -Always a tough team to play away, and I knew that once Hof told me he was initially down to play and then he wasnt that they would probably make one or two changes to their " normal" team, but hey thats in the rules and both teams could have done it -we chose not to.

I am sure Barrel will compose a match report in due course - for me though game was a good advert for the league, and Scott's goal was worthy of winning any game - personally I was pleased to see Leigh Gale playing well, always have time for Leigh.

One or two contentious decisions, disappointed with Hof's reaction to one or two of our linemans decisions, maybe they were wrong, I dont know I wasnt in line, but suprised at the level of abuse he got from Hof, who is better than that.

And finally we come to the referee, isn't a reason we lost the game, Deeping just about deserved that, but have to say he is the worst we have had all season - not least because he created his own rules as he went along - best of which was the decision to allow the Deeping keeper to come out of his box, deliberately handle a goalbound lob and then merely book the keeper - that after telling our lads not to intervene, let the referee do his job and make the right decision which he then obviously didn't!!!! this was one of several strange decisions, we will wait for his report before submitting our reply:shake:

As before though one game at a time, our destiny is still in our own hands, and we look forwards to the challenge that Oundle bring on Saturday.

Oh and look forwards to meeting Deeping again on the 25th April, when no doubt we will be playing against a different Deeping eleven :whs:
